Micromeria Acropolitana - Short Sleeve Shirt
The Micromeria Acropolitana has adorned the Sacred Rock of the Acropolis long before the construction of the Parthenon. It has witnessed the monumental events surrounding the creation of the marvel of Athenian architecture and engineering. While Iktinos and Kallikrates were the visionary architects, the great sculptor Phidias oversaw the construction, 20,000 tons of Pentelic marble are transported and carved by thousands of Athenian artisans. Upon completion of the project, the Micromeria Acropolitana began to sprout in the crevices of the walls, finding its place available soil. As if it had become an intrinsic part of the sacred edifice, it remains there today, both humble and proud, observing the ever-changing Athens. How many priestesses, hierophants, and Dionysian troupes have paraded before it? How many fervent oratory speeches has it heard? What must it have felt when the Parthenon was transformed into a Christian church during Byzantine times, later fell under Ottoman rule, was bombarded by Venetian forces under Morosini, and when Lord Elgin seized the famous sculptures? These are questions left to our imagination. What remains undeniable is that the Micromeria Acropolitana continues to captivate and inspire the most observant lovers of antiquity.
