The Minoan Octopus- Short Sleeve Shirt
The Minoan Octopus- Short Sleeve Shirt
Design inspired by a motif of the Sea Rhythm of the Minoan Period (3000 BC – 1450 BC).
The octopus inspired the artists of Minoan Crete, and not without reason, as it is undoubtedly one of the most special marine creatures close to man. Often seen on ceramic vases and wall paintings, the vividness and expressiveness with which it is depicted impresses. Nevertheless, its anatomical features are in many cases not accurately captured. One could say that the special appearance and intelligence of the octopus stimulated the imagination of the artists of Minoan Crete, leading them to a more surreal rendering.
